For more than 70 years, the scrapyard has cast a long shadow over the promise of Nashville, its riverfront, and the East Bank. Generations of Nashvillians have looked across the site with the same quiet hope: someday, this place will be transformed.
The East Bend team, backed by dedicated local investors and leading experts, is poised to transform this long-neglected industrial zone into a vibrant, connected, family-oriented mixed-use urban neighborhood. A place that will finally bring a long-awaited Children's Museum, thoughtfully designed housing, neighborhood grocery stores, exciting entertainment options, and so much more.
At the heart of this vision is an unprecedented commitment: 30% of the entire 47-acre site dedicated to public space. This includes a beautiful greenway along the Cumberland River, a sweeping park that stretches the full length of the district from its eastern border to the waterfront, and a lively activated promenade where community will thrive.
47 acres on Nashville's riverfront, finally transformed. A family-oriented neighborhood with parks, a Children's Museum, housing, and 30% public space.
Legislation is set to go before the Metro Council on April 21st to bring this walkable neighborhood to life — one that prioritizes families, public space, and opportunity for all. Most importantly, it will create the vibrant urban-core neighborhood Nashville has long deserved: a place where Nashvillians can live, work, and build community together for generations to come.

Situated at the bend in the Cumberland River, The East Bend connects downtown Nashville to the East Side — adjacent to Nissan Stadium, the new Tennessee Performing Arts Center, and the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
This vision is the result of more than 3,000 hours of collaboration across public and private partners — guided by the Imagine East Bank Vision Plan, delivering expansive open spaces, prioritized pedestrian networks, and building heights that honor the river.
